GROUP 2 - INTERMEDIATE SKATERS
Group 2 (Intermediate) skaters have passed their Stage 6. They have more ice-time available to them and lessons are predominantly private. These private lessons are usually 15 minutes in length and given anywhere between once or five times a week. Group lessons are sometimes given by a coach as well. Registration fees cover ice-time only so you must arrange for a base coach to instruct your child. Group 2 skates 2 days per week. If for some reason time is missed there are no make-up days. There are also specific skating times for Intermediates and those times must be adhered to. Coaches, parents and skaters are requested to respect the skating schedule.
With our ever growing CanSkate Program we are always in need of Program Assistants (PAs). It is expected that all Group 3 (Junior), Group 2 (Intermediate) and Group 1 (Senior) skaters volunteer some time each week to assist with the development of our future Group 3, 2 and 1 skaters. To become a senior PA you must be 12 years old and have a firm grasp of the skills in the CanSkate program. A Group 3 PA is 10 or 11 years of age and they assist the Group 1 PAs and coaches. Our CanSkate coach will be doing training sessions at the beginning of the season. Please watch for the times and dates. Even one hour a week is not gone unnoticed.
How Much Does It Cost?
Please see the Registration form for details. Private lessons, test fees, costs for solo music, and competition fees are not covered within the registration fee.
Private lessons: There is a group lesson at each session for Group 3 skaters covered within the registration fee. Private lessons (at your own request and discretion) can be paid for by purchasing a lesson card.
Test fees: $10 per test, $5 per test session. There are a maximum of 4 test sessions per year.
